Paneer Butter Masala

Ingredients
- 1 tablespoon oil
- 4 green cardamoms
- 2 onions diced
- 3 tablespoons tomato paste
- ¾ teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon red chilli powder
- 1 teaspoon garam masala
- 1 teaspoon coriander powder
- 2 tablespoon Butter
- 1 teaspoon ginger paste
- 1 teaspoon garlic paste
- 200 to 250 grams paneer
- 1 teaspoon kasuri methi (You can skip this)
- 1/2 cup cream
Instructions
- Heat 1 tablespoon oil in a pan and add 2 green cardamoms.
- Add onion and fry stirring often until they turn transparent.
- Add chilli, garam masala, and coriander powder an cook until spices are well roasted
- Add tomato paste. Sauté for a further 3 minutes. Fry this till the onion tomato masala turns aromatic. This takes 2 to 3 minutes.
- Turn off the stove & cool this completely and transfer to a blender with 1/2 cup water. Blend to a really silky smooth puree. Set aside.
- Add butter to a pan allow it to melt then add garlic, ginger and cook for 1 minute.
- Pour the blended onion tomato puree and bring to a simmer.
- Add water and paneer bring to a boil then then cover and cook on a medium heat until the gravy thickens.
- Add cream and kasuri methi
- Serve and enjoy
