Apple crumble cake of your dreams, with tons of apples and the best crumb topping ever!

Ingredients

  • Cake:
  • 3/4 cup flour
  • 1/3 cup sugar
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/3 cup milk
  • 1 egg
  • 1/3 cup oil
  • Apples:
  • 2 diced apples
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 tsp cinnamon
  • Crumb:
  • 1/3 cup brown sugar (packed)
  • 1/3 cup sugar
  • 3/4 cup flour
  • 1/3 cup rolled oats
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/3 cup melted butter

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven at 180°C on bake. 
  2. Add flour, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon and sugar into a bowl and whisk to combine. 
  3. Create a well in the centre of the dry ingredients and then add in eggs, oil, and milk. 
  4. Fold mixture together being cautious not to over mix. 
  5. Dice two apples and place them in a bowl. Add cinnamon, 1/4 cup of brown sugar and mix well. Set aside.
  6. Add rolled oats, cinnamon and remaining brown sugar, cinnamon, and semi-melted butter together and mix well to form a crumble. 
  7. Add cake batter to the lined cake tin first, followed by the apple mixture, and top it with the crumble.
  8. Bake in the oven for 30-35 minutes or until the cake becomes slightly golden on top and a skewer and be inserted and removed clean.
